---|---|
Many children are not getting the appropriate nutrients their body needs and that is a huge concern. Nutrition Jar is a demonstration that shows how the body is complete when balanced meals are eaten. When the body does not get the appropriate nutrients, then educators can discuss what could happen. Name Garden/Farm activity is a fun activity for teachers to talk about crops grown in their state, how crops are used, and different equipment seen on a farm. Educators will be asked to share one agriculture fact from their state and they will learn some fun agriculture facts about Wisconsin. Workshop Session (all workshops will be one hour) | |

Ashley Prue 3rd Grade Teacher/ WI Dairy Ambassador 9207120766 apdairyeducator@gmail.com I am from the inner city of Green Bay and I never lived on a farm. I am a third grade teacher who promotes agriculture in classroom. My younger sister, Ann Marie and my mother, Tina Prue got me involved in agriculture with our local FFA Alumni. From there I was introduced to Wisconsin Ag in the Classroom where I attended conferences and other trainings. I shared agricultural resources with other educators. Then I started working for the Brown County Dairy Promotions where I learned about dairy farms and other agricultural businesses in Wisconsin. As a dairy ambassador I love sharing the farmers’ story. As an FFA Alumni member I attended FFA conferences and one National FFA Alumni Development Conference. In 2014 I attended my first National Ag in the Classroom Conference as a White-Reinhardt Volunteer winner, which inspired me to be a presenter for the 2015 and 2016 Conference. |
