ABSTRACT INFORMATION
'FarmChat® - Virtural Fieldtrips and more '

FarmChat® is a unique program that utilizes Skype, FaceTime, etc. to connect schools with farmers. Students can ride along in a combine or tour a livestock barn without leaving their classroom! Programs can be initiated by farmers, teachers or AITC coordinators. The beauty of FarmChat® is that it is easy, cost effective and only relies on connectivity of a cellular network. During this fast-paced session, we’ll share what we’ve learned doing FarmChat® for almost four years. Participants will be able to compare programs and equipment options first-hand while we FarmChat® with an Iowa Farmer during the session!
