ABSTRACT INFORMATION
'Twisted Agriculture'

Learn how teaching with the Rubik's Cube engages and entertains students of all ages. Unlock the secret to the world famous puzzle to engage all learners and how to tie this cube to bio-plastics and agriculture! With 43 quintillion different solutions, and more than 350 million cubes sold, see how teachers are using the puzzle to teach math, art, and AGRICULTURE in their classrooms. Participants will see how these puzzles not only make math lessons more fun, but also support Critical Thinking, Grit, Collaboration, and Communication. Leave this hands-on workshop with info on getting FREE loaner cubes for their classroom!

Biosketch: Debra Wood is an experienced elementary teacher from the Edmond Public Schools in central Oklahoma where she teaches Gifted and Talented. Debra has been an active Oklahoma Ag in the Classroom teacher and has presented numerous times at the local, state, and national level. She was the 2014 Luther District Teacher of the Year, the 2017 Oklahoma Ag in the Classroom Teacher of the Year and 2019 Oklahoma Elementary Science Teacher of the Year. Debra uses a very interactive classroom environment and promotes a project based teaching style.
