Steve and Angela will take an in depth look at school gardening as a means of connecting agriculture to the full range of school curriculum. Highlighting successful projects including the Kentucky Governor’s Garden Program, this session will share ideas for productive gardens that lead students and teachers toward a positive understanding of both traditional and modern agriculture. Attendees are guaranteed to be enlightened with new ideas on connecting agriculture to today’s curriculum demands. Workshop Session (all workshops will be one hour) | |

Steve Meredith Governor's Office of Agriculture Policy steve.meredith@ky.gov Steve Meredith is a former National FFA President with a lifelong passion for agriculture. He and his son, Alex, operate a farm and horticulture business in Central Kentucky. Steve has taught high school horticulture, served as a Farm-to-School Coordinator in Louisville, Kentucky, and works with the Governor’s Garden Program for the Commonwealth of Kentucky. |
Angela G. Blank Governor's Office of Agriculture Policy angelag.blank@ky.gov Angela G. Blank, serves as the Director of Public Affairs/Public Relations for the Governor's Office of Agricultural Policy (GOAP). In this position, her focus is on public relations, governmental affairs and program management and implementation. She has worked collaboratively to develop relationships and enhance the public's understanding of the mission of GOAP and the Kentucky Agricultural Development Fund. She has been instrumental in the agricultural export initiatives within GOAP as well as the First Lady’s Governor’s Garden Program. Angela also serves as GOAP’s Legislative Liaison for the office. Previously she worked as the World Equestrian Games Agricultural Liaison, where she was in charge of coordinating and promoting Kentucky agriculture’s role in both the Kentucky Experience and the World Equestrian Games as a whole. Previously, Angela also served as the Director of Public Relations for Kentucky Farm Bureau. She has over ten years’ experience with public relations, governmental affairs, program management and event planning and policy expertise. |
