'Cultivating Seeds of Knowledge' |

A how to for those passionate about sowing seeds of knowledge through agriculture with the 2013 National "Excellence in Teaching About Agriculture" program, "Farm Fridays." "Farm Fridays" immerse students in experiences related to an agricultural topic linked to each letter of the alphabet. Lessons include reading non fiction and fiction books, writing, graphing, science, art, and cooking."Farm Fridays" discuss a kaleidoscope of topics, including the science of how something is produced to economics of buying local products to health benefits of consuming a product.The program teaches children and parents how vital agriculture is to feeding, clothing, and housing the world. Undergrad degree from The University of Georgia and a Masters degree from Piedmont College. 2012 Georgia state winner of Excellence in Teaching About Agriculture Award. 2013 National winner of Excellence in Teaching About Agriculture Award. Recipient of Flint Energies Bright Ideas Grant 2012 and 2013 for programs related to agriculture. Recipient of Joe B Crane Memorial Grant through the Georgia Agribusiness Council, 2011. Classroom featured on Georgia Department of Agriculture website with Georgia Commissioner of Agriculture Gary W. Black. Mother of three children.
