'Out of this world adaptations & futuristic GMOs' |

Organisms must adapt in order to survive. We will examine student created imaginary animal creatures with specific adaptations. Then we will discuss if GMOs are a sustainable solution to our dwindling land and water resources. We will design a GMO that will help provide food for our growing population. Leslie Meredith West Hardin Middle School 2708623003 lesliepreston@yahoo.com I have a B.S. in Plant and Soil Science from the University of Kentucky, and M.A.T. in middle grades from Bellarmine University. I have been a science and social studies teacher for 13 years. I have been named the Hardin County Environmental Educator, received the Kentucky Farm Bureau’s Excellence in Ag Literacy Award, the Kentucky Environmental Quality Commission Earth Day award, and the Kentucky Association for Environmental Education Outstanding Individual Award. I enjoytraveling, photography, and spending time with my family. |
Michael Goodman Retired Teacher from West Hardin Middle School 2708629527 fourgood@windstream.net I have a B.A. in Business Education, and a M.A. in K-8 Education from Western KY University. I retired from teaching after 30 years, and the last 18 I spent teaching 7th grade Science. As a certified K-8 teacher, I have taught elementary and middle school students. I live on a farm that my family has maintained for 4 generations, and I currently tend to a small herd of beef cattle. I enjoy mountain biking, kayaking, hiking and spending time with family and friends. |
