Connect to Agriculture - A Community Based Delivery Model
2nd year of implementation in Kansas! Share challenges and success of building a teacher cohort group in school districts that encourage integration of agriculture into current standards based curriculum.
Components:
2 year investment in a school district offering two 3.5 day summer institutes.
Partners include:FFA, FCCLA, Community College instructors and young adults who collect and present information about agriculture careers to adopted elementary classrooms. Local agriculture business' provide expert advice to elementary classrooms and help fund facilitation of teacher training as well as student learning projects.
