''Get Real’ with a Non-Fiction Ag Lit Day Book' |

To appeal to kindergarten through 5th grade teachers looking for ways to teach reading in content areas, Florida Agriculture in the Classroom and the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services are launching a new series of non-fiction Agriculture Literacy Day books. The first book in the series will highlight Florida’s livestock and poultry industry, and will educate students about the size and scope of each of the animal industries in the state. Attend this workshop and receive a copy of Drive Through Florida: Livestock and Poultry, Florida’s 2015 Agriculture Literacy Day book. Workshop Session (all workshops will be one hour) | |

Becky Sponholtz Florida Agriculture in the Classroom, Inc. 352-846-1391 sponholtz@agtag.org Becky Sponholtz is the Executive Director of Florida Agriculture in the Classroom, Inc., a post she has held since February 2017. Before that, she served as FAITC's Education Program Manager. Before that, she was a middle and high school agri-science instructor and FFA advisor for nine years. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science and her Master of Agriculture from Auburn University. She is married to Corbin Sponholtz and has a son, Landon and daughter, Chandlee. |
Lisa Gaskalla National Agriculture in the Classroom Organization 352-745-0246 Lisa.gaskalla@naitco.org Lisa Gaskalla is executive director of National Agriculture in the Classroom, a post she has held since January 2017. Before that, she worked as executive director of Florida Agriculture in the Classroom for 13 years, as executive director of Polk County Farm Bureau for four years and public relations manager for Florida Citrus Mutual. She has a bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Florida and worked as a newspaper reporter for 13 years before going to work from the agriculture industry in Florida. |
