ABSTRACT INFORMATION
'Hands-On STEM Integration: An Egg-Cellent Engineering/Math Challenge'

Agriculture can be a key to integrating STEM subjects. Integrated curriculum can combat the issues of fragmented subjects, instruction that is isolated from application, and the irrelevance of school in the real world. This workshop discusses the design considerations and development processes involved in integrating STEM subjects with curricular materials, technology, activities, and assessments. Learn to design, construct, and test a new egg carton with farm products, while considering cost, cleanliness, and environmental friendliness in this hands-on engineering/math challenge. Lists of supplies needed, instructions, and rubric are provided. See student examples and demonstrations of testing on a "bumpy" truck ride.
