'Planting the Seed' |
|
---|---|
Knowledge about agriculture is extremely inadequate among Americans. Many students believe that cotton grows on sheep and chocolate milk derives from a brown cow. These false beliefs are damaging to the agriculture industry. The goal of this wokshop is to showcase ways to plant the seed with agriculture literacy activities. The agricultural literacy activities will be connected to a piece of literature and enrich common core requirements. Reading agriculturally rich stories create magic and a sense of wonder for students. The outcome will be an integration of agriculture and literacy, bringing learning to life!
